WTF Wednesday: zombie plan part of university disaster prep, and more crazy people in the news

This is going to be a light WTF Wednesday because A. I'm sick and, in my diseased A.D.D. state, keep gravitating from odd news websites to ones with detailed instructions on uvular massage therapy, and B. may discontinue this because, while fun, it's not really about spleens.

However, in the meantime, I bring you:
  • Town gets rid of 44 tons of stinking bison meat
Behind the freezer doors at a meat plant mysteriously abandoned by its owner, 44 tons of bison meat managed to hold its own for months, masked by the brutal chill of two South Dakota winters.

  • Florida university prepares for attack of the undead
School has a plan for responding to the undead on its Web site among outlines for dealing with hurricanes and pandemics. The exercise lays out how university officials would respond to attacks by "flesh-eating, apparently life impaired individuals." It notes that a zombie outbreak might include "documentation of lots of strange moaning."

  • Officer hurt when MRI pulls gun
An off-duty officer was hurt when her hand was trapped between her handgun and the powerful magnet inside an MRI machine.

  • Woman lets daughter ride in box on top of van
A woman told police the box was too big to go inside the van, and that her daughter was inside the box to hold it down. She said it was safe because she had the box secured to the van with a clothes hanger.
And now I'm going to go throw my hands up in disgust!
