The Rapper Singer 50 Cent Goes Home

The Rapper Singer 50 Cent Goes Home50 Cent returned to his old New York neighborhood on Saturday (26Sep09) to perform a concert for his hometown fans.

Thousands packed into a school playground in Jamaica, Queens for a community festival that boasted Fiddy as its headlining act.

The festival was cancelled back in August (09) because local authorities were concerned about security arrangements.

And there was a strong police presence on Saturday, with armed cops lined up on rooftops surrounding the event.

The rapper invited the officers to join the party, shouting from the stage, "I ain't never seen this before. That's the motherfucking police. You might as well come down and party with us, because we're not going to be doing anything else. I'm just going to enjoy myself.

I'm just going to enjoy myself : 50 Cent

"I'm back in my neighborhood, it feels good. I'm full of positive energy.

"I want to make sure everyone has a good time and gets home safe".

50 Cent to evict son

50 Cent to evict son50 Cent has asked a judge to evict his 10-year-old son and ex-girlfriend from his New York house.

The rapper, real name Curtis Jackson, wants Shaniqua Tompkins and their son Marquise Jackson to leave the property in Long Island.

In February, a judge reduced Tompkins' monthly support payments from $25,000 to $6,700 on the condition they would partly use the money in a bid to find a new place to live.

But 50 Cent is now claiming Tompkins - who also lives with a daughter from another relationship - didn't even attempt to look for a new residence, and is taking advantage of the situation as the house is still in his name and he continues to pay all the bills.

However, Tompkins' lawyer Paul Catsandonis is expected to argue today that her client cannot be evicted from the property as she is not officially a tenant, because she never had a lease agreement and consequently has never paid rent.

Catsandonis will also claim Tompkins was initially promised the house by 50, but the rapper changed his mind before closing the sale.

A representative for 50 Cent refused to comment on the case.

50 Cent's quit threat

50 Cent's quit threat50 Cent has vowed to quit music if Kanye West outsells him.

The two hip-hop stars new albums - 50's 'Curtis' and West's 'Graduation - are both released on September 11 and 50 is so confident he will win the sales war he is willing to gamble his future.

50 Cent said: "Let's raise the stakes.

"If Kanye West sells more records than 50 Cent on September 11, I'll no longer perform music. I'll write music and work with my other artists, but I won't put out any more solo albums.

"They would like to see Kanye West give me a problem because I've worked myself into a space where I've become the favourite. Everybody roots for the underdog when he goes against the favourite."

West's last album 'Late Registration' has so far sold 2.8 million - far less than 50 Cent's 'Get Rich or Die Tryin'?' which has sold almost 8 million.

50 went on to claim West's record label will even buy his album to bolster sales.

He told SOHH.com: "And I bet this: When Kanye West's sales come in, he's gonna have a 70 per cent decrease cause Def Jam is gonna buy records to keep him closer to 50 Cent.

"So watch the first week and then watch the second week. Watch his a** drop off the planet."

The Queens-born rapper - real name Curtis Jackson III - has also challenged West to a live TV debate, but his rival snubbed the showdown.

50 Cent said: "I accept the challenge. Kanye, he's not going to want to show up."

When asked about the challenge at the MTV Video Music Award nominations, West said: "What am I going to debate about? I thought it was the stupidest thing. When my album drops and 50's album drops, you're going to get a lot of good music at the same time."
